Kathy Farrell is head of the Commercial Real Estate line of business for SunTrust now Truist, a full service provider of banking solutions to owners, operators and developers of commercial real estate properties across the country.  She successfully managed the acquisition and integration of Pillar/Cohen Financial which added Agency origination, third party servicing and mortgage brokerage businesses effectively tripling the size of the business.  Kathy is also responsible for the Real Estate Investment Banking unit which offers debt, equity and advisory solutions to the CRE client base.

During her time at SunTrust now Truist, Kathy has served as the Chief Risk Officer for Commercial Real Estate and held leadership positions with the REIT Banking team. Kathy’s career spans 25 years in real estate finance and banking, including origination, underwriting, capital markets, work out strategies, and risk management.

Kathy is a member of the SunTrust now Truist Operating Committee, is the Enterprise Chair of the Women’s Inclusion Network and serves as a board member of the SunTrust now Truist Foundation.

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Mathematics, Kathy is involved in a variety of industry and community organizations, including Real Estate Roundtable, ULI, Central Atlanta Progress and House Atlanta. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Atlanta Beltline Partnership.
