The pandemic has caused widespread disruption to the global economy. A cautious recovery has started, but progress will be determined by the course of the virus and the reaction it prompts for governments, firms, and consumers. What more will policy makers need to do build bridges to a new normal? What might be the long run consequences of COVID-19? The answers to these questions, and their implications for risk management, will be discussed.
